On behalf of Dr David Zimmermann and the Mooloolah Dental team, we look forward to welcoming you to your first visit with us.
It’s helpful to bring a few documents with you to your initial exam.
- Current list of medication
- Health fund information
- Questions about your oral health
- A list of any cosmetic dentistry treatments you want
- Your new patient forms
If you do not download your forms online and fill them out in advance of your appointment, you can come in about 10 to 15 minutes early, and we will provide them for you before the start of your exam.
Comprehensive Oral Evaluation
The best way to get started is with a full evaluation with one of our experienced dentists. He will provide a tooth-by-tooth exam to identify any oral conditions or breakdown of current dentistry, along with solutions for any diseased or damaged teeth.
A periodontal evaluation will determine the presence of gum disease, which threatens both your oral and overall health. By measuring pocketing between teeth and gums, and identifying any bleeding, we will make a recommendation for an oral hygiene regimen to improve your oral health.
Your dentist is often the first health professional to notice any suspicious lesions in the mouth that could be cancerous. An oral cancer screening at your dental appointment can potentially save your life. If your dentist notices anything that requires your attention, he will help you arrange a biopsy.
Your Safety and Comfort
Patient comfort and safety are the foundation of our practice. We exceed the minimum recommendations for sterilisation and cleanliness to prevent the spread of disease.
Digital dental x-rays reduce the levels of radiation by up to 80 per cent, making it possible for us to take the diagnostic images required to identify decay, bone levels, cysts, tumours and fractured roots safely.
Digital radiographs are also better for the environment, eliminating the need for chemicals used to develop old-school films.
